Faux-Organic
by Aubree Wallace, 2018
Installation of paint, text, and tissuepaper
" Faux-Organic was an installation I did when my son was about a year and a half old. I measured myself in the space to create the black box and then spent hours writing on the walls in flow on consciousness to address the transition of self I was facing. The hanging of the pyramids was my last step, engaging my viewer with formal qualities. I approached this piece as a way to make time to be reflective during the creative process. As something I made for myself loosing almost all documentation of the installation felt oddly fitting."
