Aubree Lynn - Contemporary Artist

" Our existence is one of endless complexity.  However, if we learn how to experience it differently, we are capable of organizing the chaos. "

Artist Statement

“Making is a meditative practice for me—one of repetition, contemplation, and quiet discovery. I create with craft media: ceramics, fiber, and paper. My work, primarily abstract, serves as a vessel for introspection and communication, using simple forms to evoke emotion and resonance.

I am drawn to the tactile and the unspoken, exploring how texture, scale, and a restrained palette can tap into shared human experiences. My inspiration comes from nature, the interplay of light and shadow, and the quiet presence of organic forms. Through my work, I seek to suggest rather than dictate, offering space for viewers to bring their own narratives and emotions into the conversation.

Conceptually, my work articulates the peaceful, the mindful, and the grounded in a world that constantly screams. My pieces are about visual presence—a sense of form and balance that invites an emotional response. I do not impose a singular meaning but instead relinquish control, allowing for a silent dialogue between object and observer. In that space, I quietly wonder: What does this work awaken in you? The work is a space for reflection, for feeling, for seeing beyond what is immediately present.”

Artist Biography

Aubree Lynn Wallace is a dedicated working artist, devoted mother, and community builder. Growing up in the Rocky Mountains and spending most of her adult life there, she feels most at home in the trees looking up at the perfect white clouds in the big sky. She values light, good coffee, plants, and art in all forms.

She ardently believes in igniting and nurturing creativity in all individuals. In her artwork, she explores texture and seeks to evoke a sense of tranquility, she delves into the intricate and beautiful facets of the feminine experience through the use of "craft" media and practices.

After she graduated from the University of Wyoming BFA program, she worked as a post-undergraduate assistant in the Foundations and Ceramics areas. Amidst the challenges of the pandemic, Aubree joined the Laramie Plains Civic Center to help the revitalization of the community pottery studio and facilitate local artists' continued access to essential equipment. She now serves as that non-profit’s Visual Arts Director running their ceramics studio, gallery, and other visual arts initiatives.

Aubree is committed to nurturing creativity, offering support in the nonprofit sector, and promoting kindness in even the most demanding situations.
