Nurture

I took on a new role to support my local creative community, dedicating myself to tending to other artists. While this work was deeply rewarding, my own practice sat on the shelf. I found myself seeking a way back, not only to making but to myself. Nurture is my way back, an exploration of rest, playfulness, and intimacy. Through the combination of ceramic objects, fiber, and living plants, I examine what it means to reconnect with the kindness and care I need now, as well as the little girl I was 20 years ago. These materials, with their contrasting softness and solidity, growth and stillness, become a language of self-tending—an invitation to slow down, to listen, to be held. Subtly, this work also becomes a reimagining of spiritual practice and ritual. In shaping these forms, I am shaping new gestures of care, new moments of presence. The interplay of materials and process creates quiet acts of devotion—small ceremonies of nurturing, of returning, of making space for the sacred in the everyday.
